Santorini, Greece

Santorini, is a Greek island in the Aegean Sea; it is the largest of a small volcanic archipelago (archipelago of Santorini) and one of the most important tourist places of the country. Famous with its white houses and blue domes perched on cliffs. Fresh water is precious on this almost desert island that has very little reserves and no natural source. There is a plant with seawater desalination.

Tips

It is possible to visit the island on foot or by donkey but you will also find small cars.
If you want a nice temperature and not much tourism as in July and August, visit Santorini in September.
To get the best view and the best sunset, go to Imerovigli (considered the most romantic town).
If you want to stay in the top hotels for best sunsets, it’s probably ‘Altana’ because it is the highest and nothing will prevent you from getting the best view. It also has a pool.
Hotels are expensive but even the most economical give you excellent service.
Kamari and Perissa are the most visited villages with their beaches. Kamari has more restaurants, shops and bars but Perissa has the best beach.
There are 2 things not to miss: walk between Fira and Oia throughout the caldera and take a trip on a boat to approach the volcano and walk between islands.
If you like to eat fresh fish, you will be in one of the best places there.
