Benalmádena, Malaga, Andalusia, Spain

Benalmádena is a town in the province of Malaga in the autonomous community of Andalusia in Spain. The city has discos, hotels, beaches, shopping centers and a marina well equipped; it became a residential area and very commercially active. The original village, Benalmadena Pueblo, is located about three kilometers inside the city at an altitude of about 200 m. It is a typical Andalusian village, but including many recent buildings in modern architectural styles. The highest areas of the mountains, have some non-urban areas. We can find the Sealife Aquarium, the Selwo Marina; amusement parks with dolphins, penguins and seals among others; Park La Paloma, landscaped park with a large lake and wildlife and endangered species, the Arroyo de la Miel; picturesque village inside the city which hosts several religious events and also the Tivoli World Theme Park. To see: Torremuelle, Quebrada and Bermeja towers (defense system at different times of the city), ‘La niña de Benalmádena’, bronze sculpture in Spain Square; the Casino, ‘Ventorrilo of Perra’ (inn, built in the XVIII) is a restaurant specializing in traditional Spanish cuisine, which reproduces the atmosphere of the time of Carlos III; among others.

Tips

The city is part of the city rail line connecting C1 Malaga to Fuengirola, passing through the airport Malaga-Costa del Sol, which passes every 20 minutes.
You have 20 km of beaches and also a nudist beach: the Benalnatura.
If you want to have a complete view of the city, take the cable car which goes to the top of Calamorro (759 meters); if time permits, you can see the Strait of Gibraltar and the Atlas mountain in Africa.
If you like museums, visit the Archaeological Museum which features locally sourced items dating back to the Bronze Age.
