The Breakaway is a Norwegian Cruise Line owned vessel that was built in 2013 with capacity for almost 4,000 passengers and over 1,600 crew members. The ship has the free style service that allows passengers to choose their own schedules for meals and shows and also the opportunity to be free as to how to dress on board. It has 15 complete floors and a sixteenth and seventeenth floor only for activities. On deck 8, you’ll find the Waterfront, a quarter-mile walk along the ocean, perfect for relaxing or just walking. You will also find an interesting range of restaurants and bars, among which there are five paying restaurants. Talking about entertainment, there are 3 main shows that are played alternately in the theater and other various presentations in the different rooms or bars. Parents and children will be delighted with the waterslides, the giant waterslide, the climbing wall and the swimming pool. For adults there is also a 9-hole mini golf, spas, a paying section for massages, sauna and beauty treatments. It has a reserved section, called the Haven, with more luxurious and refined facilities with 24-hour butler service, concierge service and private solarium. There are also some studio cabins for singles with a private section for them as well as activities. There are duty-free shops, a large casino, a disco, a library, meeting rooms, a section reserved for teenagers aged 13 to 17 and an ice bar.
With your online check-in, you can also purchase the beverage package, a choice of discounted specialty restaurants, pre-paid tips and other promotions. On site, prices are a little more expensive than if you buy it in advance.
There is no captain’s night or gala like on other ships so you do not need to bring clothes for a gala evening.
If you like arts, you have also the possibility to buy pictures on bord.
