Cozumel, Mexico

Cozumel, a paradise island for divers, is at the East coast of the Yucatan, Mexico. Captain Jacques Cousteau, a famous oceanographic explorer, made known the beauty of the coral reef through his documentaries where international divers start looking for marine pleasure.

Tips

Even if you do not practice diving, you will certainly be tempted to take a mask and a snorkel to embark on the adventure and admire the many underwater species in clear and turquoise water, the boldest can take diving courses and go with guides on the reefs. The island presents also a cultural aspect that adds to its charm with the ruins on several sites like Tumba del Caracol in homage to the God Kukulcan or another most important San Gervasio with temples where the Mayan goddess Ixchel was honored, the ruins of Castillo Real are worth the detour with its tower and its colourful frescoes that have resisted at the time. You can find shops of souvenirs and restaurants on these different points of visit.

Sea excursions are also available to fans of fishing.

The beautiful beaches of white sand will tempt you to practice the international ‘sport’ of ‘doing nothing that relax’.
