The Ocean Casa del Mar is a complex with 800 modern and comfortable rooms located on the beach in Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba. All-inclusive hotel, considered a 4 stars and a half one. There is a kids club, many activities and sports, à la carte restaurants and the opportunity to enjoy a honeymoon package. There are various shows every night either in bars or at the theater. The staff is very friendly and they are always there to help with a smile. The hotel also counts with a Privilege section for 18 years and over and you have to pay to enjoy it. In this section, you will have 1 hour of free internet in the lobby, breakfast à la carte, separate check-in and late check-out, bathrobes and slippers in the room, access to pool and lounge privilege, priority reservations at à la carte restaurants and drinks premium brand.

Tips

Please note that the hotel is almost 2 hours from the airport so if you don’t want to travel by bus so much, choose another hotel. 

Regarding the vegetation, it will take a few years to see it in all its splendor.

There are some rocks at the entrance to the beach, but other than that, you will find beautiful sand, you don’t need beach shoes.

 

Botanical Garden of Padron, La Coruña, Galicia, Spain

The Botanical Garden of Padron is next to the N-550 road in the province of La Coruna, autonomous community of Galicia, Spain. It contains many species of plants, some of them highly developed and mature, being a rarity or a singular plant in Galicia. The garden date from the first decades of the nineteenth century constructed of a farm belonging to the Counts of San Juan. It was built in the pattern characteristic of the time, mixing Italian, English and French styles. The garden has a herbarium, greenhouse and new areas were added to the original structure. We find many monuments like the statue of the fourteenth century of the Galician troubadour known as “The lover” or another as the Castelao bust. There are almost 300 plant species that come from different parts of the world. Many social and cultural events of the village of Padron take place in the garden.

Tips

The garden is a beautiful place to walk, relax on a bench reading something or just enjoy nature and the variety of plants found there.

Au Sentier de l’Érable, Sainte-Julienne, Quebec, Canada

Au Sentier de l’Érable is a sugar shack and reception room in Sainte-Julienne, Quebec (35-40 minutes from Montreal); established since 1953; originally under the name of Bernard Duquette Sugar Shack (its founder-owner). After several years she was sold to a member of the family and the tradition continued without stopping. You can enjoy a good home-made meal with friends or family and also spend a pleasant day with different outdoor activities that the place offers. You will find trails for a nice walk and there is also a tractor from 1954 that can take you for a visit on the site. There are games and a mini farm for children. There is a great dance floor and traditional music. There is a shop with the sale of various maple products.

Tips

The sugar season for 2018 is from March 3rd to April 28th.

You need a reservation for the groups.

If you want to have a guided tour of the sugar bush on weekdays with a group, it is possible to do it between 11:00 and 16:00. Do not forget to make your reservation in advance.

The reception hall can be rented all year long with a minimum of 60 people and a maximum of 300.

There is also the possibility of organizing a wedding or reception outside, at the location of your choice.
