St. Moritz is a municipality in the canton of Grissons. They speak German, Italian and Romansh (a Romance language, the fourth official language of the country). It is also one of the oldest winter sports resorts of the world, famous also for an average of 322 days of sunshine a year. It was the site of the Winter Olympics in 1928 and 1948. Renowned for its palaces, spas, casino and practice of polo on the frozen lake that have always attracted the ‘high society’. Chic, elegant and exclusive; its atmosphere is more cosmopolitan receiving tourism worldwide. Its ski areas range from 3000m to 3380m.

Tips

If you go for skiing, to access the 350 km of tracks, you can take the funicular that connects the town to Corviglia (2486m altitude) in only 10 minutes and from there take another cable car which will take you to the Piz Nair (3057m). You would also have a beautiful view of the peaks of the Bernina and the 25 lakes of the Upper Engadine.
If you prefer to go up to Piz Corvatsch (3303m), it is accessible by bus and then by cable car.
If you stay more than a day in the region, take advantage to take the Bernina Express, panoramic train from St. Moritz to Tirano, Italy. You will have breathtaking wiews. The highest peak of the tracks is 4000m on the Eastern Alps and finishes at 429m altitude in Tirano. The way takes 4 hours starting from a region to the Alpine climate to reach the Mediterranean climate.
