The Lavender House, culture and perfumery is located in St-Eustache, Quebec. It is a place where the owners cultivate lavender, where guests can visit the lavender fields in the summer when the plants are in bloom and there’s, of course, a shop where you can buy products made with lavender. There are also other activities offered in summer; for example music on Sundays, massage therapy on Saturdays, in addition you can have a picnic on site and of course walk among the plants or take a break sitting next to them to fill you with nature and beauty. The use of lavender has been known for millennia, the extraction of a quality oil from the flowers is done with the distillation by steam. This oil has multiple uses. Lavender is known for its antiseptic, antibacterial, disinfectant, calming, healing and antispasmodic; its use is also recommended to combat the anxiety, nervousness and insomnia. You can take it as a tea, in capsules or used as alcoholate to friction.

Tips

The house is open daily from 10:00 to 17:00. The agrotourism site is open from May to October. You can buy the ticket online and take it the day of your visit at the entrance. Children under 12 enter for free and teens 12 to 17 years pay half the price.

You can also order floral arrangements for special occasions.

Gibraltar

Gibraltar is a British overseas territory, part of the European Union, located south of the Iberian peninsula, bordering the Strait of Gibraltar that links the Mediterranean to the Atlantic Ocean; this corresponds to the Rock of Gibraltar and its immediate vicinity and is separated from Spain by a 1.2-km border (shortest land border in the world); having an area of 6.8 km. Dolphins and whales are regularly found in the Bay of Gibraltar. Its economy is based on the services sector, mainly those related to finance and tourism being an ideal stopover for cruise ships.

If you schedule your visit in September you can attend the National Day (September, 10th) where locals dress in red and white (the national colors) and you will see thousands of release red and white balloons.

Laboratory of Art, Taormina, Messina, Sicily, Italy

The Laboratory of Art (Laboratori dell’arte) is a Sicilian company which deals with works on the volcanic lava stones of Mount Etna. They make the whole process from the cutting of the stone to the final decoration made by Sicilian craftsmen. The range of objects realized varies a lot, you can find even small objects, a complete decoration for a kitchen (walls, washbasin, etc.) in Sicilian style and also jewelry. There is a shop in Taormina where you can find many items on sale and if you wish, you can also order the objects of your choice with the designs you desire. Beautiful tables and sinks can also be ordered.
