The Whala! Bayahibe is a 4-star hotel located 19 km from La Romana Airport and 71km from Punta Cana Airport, at Dominicus in Dominican Republic. The hotel overlooks a cliff and there is no beach on site but there is a shuttle every 30mn from 8h to 18h which drops you off at the beach in 10 minutes. The shuttle is dedicated to hotel guests only. However, if you can swim, you can go down into the sea and enjoy all of its beauty. The hotel is an all inclusive. The complex is divided into several buildings surrounded by beautiful gardens. You have rooms and suites with sea view (in front of or partial) or garden view. There are 4 pools, 3 of which are with seawater and one of them is an infinity pool which overlooks the cliff directly. There is only one à la carte restaurant with a great view, a buffet and a snack bar next to the swimming pools. The complex is known to be a quiet place with activities like aqua gym, yoga and dance classes. There is a little different animation every evening.

Tips

If you like walking, the beach is a 15-20 minute walk and you will have the possibility to go through the small village with the shops.

There is sushi on request in the à la carte restaurant, paying an extra.

If you like pizza, you can ask for your choice at the snack bar and they will make it on request in front of you.

Straw Market, Nassau, Bahamas

The Straw Market is a large handicraft market located on Bay Street in downtown Nassau, Bahamas. You will find many merchants selling their products, many of which will make the items you want to buy in front of your eyes. You have a large selection of crafts such as straw or wood objects, jewelry made of shellfish and coconut and also t-shirts souvenirs among other items. The atmosphere is very lively and colorful and the people are very smiling and welcoming. The market is open every day and the opening hours vary according to the merchants. It is the favorite of tourists making a cruise stopover in Nassau and it is close to the port.

Tips

You can always shop for the price of items you want to buy, merchants are used to trading.

To avoid crowds, it’s best to visit early in the morning or late afternoon.

If you find an article that you like but it is not exactly how you would like it, it’s just to tell the merchant because many times, the kiosk is held by the same craftsman and it will be a pleasure to him to arrange the object to your taste.

Bring cash to buy, US dollar is accepted without any problem.

Tips

Do not you forget to take an adapter/transformer of 220V if the current of your country is different.
If you you go there for the golf, remember that you must pay the transport to go to there and even the buggy rental golf. You must also register in advance for the days you want.
The internet service is not good then do not count with him if you really need it.
If you want to go around a bit, there is a shuttle bus which departs from the hotel to visit the old Varadero and its craft market. There are also other optional excursions and a full tour of the peninsula by bus that you can godown and take again so many times as you want with the same ticket.
