Christmas and traditions Market, Longueuil, Quebec

The Christmas and traditions Market in Longueuil is in its 13th edition. Like every year, it will be at St. Mark Park on St. Charles Street in Old Longueuil. The market makes us remember a small village of yesteryear, where many exhibitors booths, seem small illuminated houses. Here you will find producers and artisans from all over the province. It is an ideal place to visit with friends or family to buy your gifts for Christmas Eve. There are several activities such as the Small train of the North, workshops for children, the sale of Christmas trees, singing, music, dance, humor, and more. Of course Santa Claus is present to receive your children who will love to talk to him while you take photos. An appointment not to be missed, go in large numbers !!!

Tips

The market takes place from November, 29th  to December, 22nd 2019. It is open from Thursday to Sunday.  To know about the schedule,  go to their web site.
The Old Longueuil joins this event so enjoy for a little walk around the market, to have something in a restaurant or cafe. The houses are also embellished.
You can go to Longueuil metro station and take a bus from there (there are 4 lines) or walk twenty minutes as the park is 1.7 km from the metro station.

Rialto Theatre, Montreal, Quebec, Canada

The Rialto Theatre is a theater in the Mile End neighborhood in Montreal which was inaugurated in 1924. It is considered a national historic site of Canada. The hall is well known for its magnificent interior decoration, made by Emmanuel Briffa. Its neo-baroque style, richly decorated, has lots of marble, wood paneling, wall hangings, etc. The construction (1923-1924) is due to the Montreal architect Raoul Gariépy and he had designed it as a neighborhood cinema. Rialto featured films, musical performances and plays. The place has a capacity of 770 seats in the stalls and 600 in the balcony. The building that houses the theater also has other facilities such as a ballroom, a bowling alley, a roof garden and shops on the ground floor. It was sold around 1990 and Rialto had lost its cultural role after the sale but it was sold again and since 2010, the new owner has given it back its original role.

Tips

You can know about the different presentations on their website. The theater has an intimate atmosphere and if you are on the ground floor, you’ll still have more like that feeling. Montreal Casino is the largest casino in Canada, located on Île Notre-Dame in Montreal, in the old pavilions of France and Quebec during the 1967 World Expo; opened on October 9th, 1993 and managed by the Society of Quebec’s casinos, a subsidiary of Loto-Quebec. The building has 9 floors, 150 gaming tables, almost 5,000 electronic slot machines and games, one of the largest Keno games in America, four restaurants, a theater and cabaret of Montreal Casino that is the only place in Montreal where you can also have a meal. It includes all the traditional games and also an electronic racetrack Royal Ascot, video lottery terminals and a section for high bets.

Tips

You can arrive by metro or car and park it in the car park and take the free bus service that offers the Casino.

It’s also a good place to spend a nice evening without having the obligation to play, just to listen to music usually with live entertainment as well as dancing lessons in the central scenario where there is also a place for a dance practice, you can have a drink or coffee at the tsame place.

You can attend several  free varieties shows and other shows paying a ticket that change according to the calendar.

There are also various restaurants and the last opening was the Garden, a large terrace where you can eat, have a drink, attend live shows and dance.
