Etar Architectural-Ethnographic Complex, Gabrovo, Bulgaria

The Etar Architectural-Ethnographic Complex is an open-air museum and a neighbourhood of Gabrovo (8 km south of its center) in northern Bulgaria; on the northern edge of the Bulgarka Nature Park, between the park and the city of Gabrovo. They started buildin it in 1963 and opened in 1964. There you can see the culture, customs and craftsmanship of Bulgarian people. You’ll find about 50 items including water installations and houses with craftsmen’s workshops attached, houses with two floors, a clock tower, pottery, cutlery, needlework, etc. All the items had been made respecting original instruments and the old traditions.

Tips

You can find many restaurants in the park so you can taste and enjoy Bulgarian cuisine.
You can also find shops for souvenirs.
If you visit the place during Easter or Palm Sunday, you can assist to the annual Christian festivals celebrated in the park.

Barcelona is considered to be the 2nd Spanish city by population and for its activities. Its port on the Mediterranean Sea is one of the most important in southern Europe. Its main language is Catalan. It is a tourist city by excellence known for the architectural work that Antonio Gaudi has left in it: La Sagrada Familia, Parc Guell and Casa Batllo are among his most outstanding works. The city is also famous for its Ramblas (streets near the port) where there are a lot of artists, bars, restaurants, souvenir shops, etc.

Tips

Get the 10 Travel card to save in your travels by public transport. If you stay for ten or more days, you can also buy the card that allows you to make 50 trips in a month, it is even more economical.
To enter the subway, you must be careful, because you must bring the ticket to the left and go through the right, if you are distracted, another person can pass in your place and you will need to purchase another ticket.
If you want to use the tourist bus, buy your ticket on the net and you’ll get a 10% discount.
There are some free attractions: Park Guell, the Labyrinth Park, the Museum of Art Caixa-Forum, the oldest part of the city, the port and the beach where you can arrive by metro.
The Picasso Museum is free on the first Sunday of each month.
It doesn’t worth to eat in the restaurants on the Ramblas, they are expensive, and the gourmet service is not good.

Sugar shack La Goudrelle, Montérégie, Mont St-Grégoire

Sugar shack La Goudrelle is located on the South Shore of Montreal, in Montérégie, at Mont St-Grégoire. It belongs to the Gingras family and has been established since 1948. There are five dining rooms and a dance hall. You can also take your meal away and of course taste the maple taffy on the snow. You have the possibility to make events during the year under reservation (80 people and more). Other activities are added to your visit. There are several free ones for the children and also some paying ones during the weekend. There are animals on site and you can enjoy the trails for hiking in the mountains. During your visit, you can see the operation of the sugar bush in video.

Tips

You can check schedules and prices on their website. If you wish, there is the possibility to buy their products in the shop on site; you will also find several gift ideas. For groups of 20 people or more, you must make a reservation. If you are a student or a person of the golden age (65 and over) mention it because there are often promotions.
