Trevelin is a city in Patagonia Argentina in the province of Chubut. It is a city well known because in 1902 the Welsh settlers who lived there decided to take Argentinian nationality after a time of conflict in which Chile claimed the land. The plebiscite was signed at School No. 18 Rio Corintos. Its Welsh name means “Mill Village. The first mill was opened by John Daniel Evans in 1918 with the name of Mill of Andes Company, it was used to grind wheat and its three owners with this creation, decided to donate part of the valley to the creation of a village near the river Percey because there were already colonies for people who worked in the mill every day, thus initiating Trevelin. On the death of Evans, production was declining and the factory closed in 1953, after that it was restaured and opened as a museum. The city of Trevelin met other small towns and some of them are Mapuche communities (indigenous). With Welsh settlers, the founders of the city, Trevelin has a rich Celtic culture of the country.

Tips

Trevelin region is ideal for a minimum of one week vacation. There are many interesting places to see like the National Park Los Alerces, the Reserve Nant and Fall, the dam Amutui Quimey, among others.
You will find cottages and hotel services and special catering for fish amateurs.
Be sure to enjoy the Welsh tea ceremony that is accompanied by traditional cakes and enjoy the famous Welsh cake which can be kept for years.

Taliouine, Taroudant, Souss-Massa, Morocco

Taliouine is a Berber town in the province of Taroudant, in Morocco, in the region of Souss-Massa; region of rural populations of the Anti-Atlas. The village is a large producer of saffron and its production is very important. There is a local cooperative where you can buy the red gold directly, as they name it. Since 2007, there is the International Safran Festival which helps to promote this production every year.

Tips

If you visit the area you will find sellers of saffron next to fields and you will have the opportunity to walk on the fields, drink saffron tea and of course, buy fresh saffron directly from the producer.

This year’s international festival will be held from October, 20th to November, 15th 2017.

The Loto-Québec Fireworks Festival, Montreal, Quebec, Canada

The Loto-Québec Fireworks Festival has been held since 1985 at La Ronde, an amusement park in Montreal. In its first presentation, they had more than five and a half million spectators and since then it has become one of the most important events of the summer in Montreal. At the beginning there were two kinds of presentations of lights without and with music but since 1987 there is only one presentation where the lights are perfectly synchronized with the music. The fires are presented by different countries and they take place with good or bad weather. Apart from La Ronde, where the entrance must be paid; people stay on the Jacques-Cartier Bridge or on both banks of the St. Lawrence River to attend the event free of charge. The fires had Giovanni Panzera like artistic director, from 1987 to 2000, personality very recognized in this kind of events and he is the one who has given more and more notoriety to the lights into world level. This year 2018, it will be the 34th edition of lights that are presented every Saturday and Wednesday. The pyrotechnic firms in competition are represented by several countries that change each year and usually there are just 3 of them that will be on the list of winners.

If you want to participate with your vote to choose the winner, go on the La Ronde site and have the chance to win the prize they announce each year.

You can buy a round passport for the entire season or just buy the ticket of the chosen evening. Several sections of the park are set up for the event itself.
