Valletta, Malta

Valletta is the capital of Malta; located on the northeast side of the island on the Xiberras peninsula. It was founded in 1566 by the knights of Saint-Jean and bears the name of its founder: Jean de Valette. The city preserves many buildings which belong to the time when the hospital order of Saint John of Jerusalem, was the sovereign of the Maltese archipelago (from 1530 to 1798). The city was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage in 1980, a city rich in monuments on a small surface (320 monuments in 55 hectares). There is a lot of pedestrian area in the city, with a lot of sloping streets and stairs. To see: the co-cathedral of Saint-Jean, the fortifications, the Magisterial Palace, the Fort Saint-Elme, the National Archaeological Museum, the Notre-Dame de la Victoire church, among others.

Tips

Wear comfortable shoes to walk in the city.

If you are driving, you can leave the car in the underground parking lot of Il-Furjana and take the shuttle that takes you into town.

From the central bus station, you can use public transport to travel to other cities and places of interest.

For a great view of the city and its surroundings, go to the Upper Barrakka Gardens.

Carnival Miracle

The Carnival Miracle is a ship belonging to Carnival Cruise Lines and put into service in 2001. It belongs to the Spirit class. The ship will be dry laid in February 2020 to do a complete renovation. There is capacity for 2124 passengers and 934 crew members. Its length is 294 meters. You will find everything you need to enjoy a beautiful cruise: restaurants, bars, games room, library, casino, theater, disco, mini-golf, etc. You also have the laundry service, babysitting, breakfast in your cabin, etc.

Tips

Obviously the ship will not be available during the renovations, but you can consult the other ships and itineraries on the company website.

Whala!Bayahibe, Dominicus, Dominican Republic

The Whala! Bayahibe is a 4-star hotel located 19 km from La Romana Airport and 71km from Punta Cana Airport, at Dominicus in Dominican Republic. The hotel overlooks a cliff and there is no beach on site but there is a shuttle every 30mn from 8h to 18h which drops you off at the beach in 10 minutes. The shuttle is dedicated to hotel guests only. However, if you can swim, you can go down into the sea and enjoy all of its beauty. The hotel is an all inclusive. The complex is divided into several buildings surrounded by beautiful gardens. You have rooms and suites with sea view (in front of or partial) or garden view. There are 4 pools, 3 of which are with seawater and one of them is an infinity pool which overlooks the cliff directly. There is only one à la carte restaurant with a great view, a buffet and a snack bar next to the swimming pools. The complex is known to be a quiet place with activities like aqua gym, yoga and dance classes. There is a little different animation every evening.

Tips

If you like walking, the beach is a 15-20 minute walk and you will have the possibility to go through the small village with the shops.

There is sushi on request in the à la carte restaurant, paying an extra.

If you like pizza, you can ask for your choice at the snack bar and they will make it on request in front of you.
