Mar del Plata is a city of the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, located on the Atlantic coast, 404 km southeast of the city of Buenos Aires, the federal capital. The city is a major tourist center of the country; major resort and hosts during the summer between two and three million visitors, multiplying up to twice its resident population. The city has a highly developed tourist infrastructure. It is also known as the Pearl of the Atlantic and there is a great similarity with Biarritz (the French city). The preferred beaches by the tourists are located in the city center or in the south of the city. It is well known culturally, it has many theaters and cinemas that are full of all kinds of shows in the summer. It’s also visited throughout the year because it is a city that offers many opportunities for tourists there are many events that take place throughout the year and it is also a place for lovers-fishing. The climate of Mar del Plata is temperate oceanic, with abundant rainfall throughout the year and much cooler temperatures than in Buenos Aires. To see: Provincial Hotel and Central Casino (one of the largest casinos in the world, which also hosts a theater-auditorium); the Millennium Square with its dancing waters fountain (opposite the Casino); the monument to the sea lion (located on the Rambla), the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Cecilia (1905); the Monk Tour; the Fishermen Port; the Lighthouse Punta Mogotes, Camet Park, the Aquarium, among others.

Tips

There is a wide variety of restaurants in the city. A nice place to eat is the port where you will find delicious dishes with fresh fish of the day. You can also buy fresh fish every day.
The Atlantic coast has many beaches and cities each bonded to others, you can rent a car to know them, it is worth it because they are very different from each other.
At 20 km from the city we find the Mount and the Lagoon of Fathers, a popular site for tourism.
You will find many woolen and cotton thread clothing stores because there are several textile factories in the city and around; the same as factories of ‘alfajores’, a kind of stuffed biscuit with ‘dulce de leche’ product typically Argentinian.
If you like a night out, there are many bars, restaurants, discos, pubs, etc. The best known places are in the city center, on Avenue Constitución or at ‘Playa Grande’ on the Maritime Boulevard.

Cardiff, Wales

Cardiff is the capital and largest city of Wales, located in South Wales, on the banks of the River Taff in the historic county of Glamorgan. It was founded by the Romans and it developed from the Roman fort that guarded the passage on the Taff. There is a Norman castle in the center of the city. Until 1800 it was a small town but after the discovery of coal, it became a very important port. Today the city is the center of finance and main business services of Wales and a tourist city with plenty of hotels, restaurants, bars and pubs. The media sector is one of the main activities of the city and there are very important studios such as BBC Wales, with a major independent television production. The Castle Quarter is the commercial area in the north of the city center and contains arcades of Victorian and Edwardian eras like the Castle Arcade, High Street Arcade and Duke Street Arcade; being St Mary St, High St, Castle St and Duke St, the main shopping streets. There is also a beautiful bay for leisure activities. To see: the City Hall, Cardiff Castle, the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff University, Pierhead Building, Millennium Stadium, Llandaff Cathedral, among others.

Tips

The city is well served by public transportation and is also well connected by rail with 20 stations in the city.
For cycling enthusiasts, there is the Taff Trail, 88.5 km, running from Cardiff Bay to Brecon in the Brecon Beacons National Parl. It is also a walking path.
You can also visit the Doctor Who Experience; it is a museum of the famous series broadcast by the BBC.

Cadaqués, Girona, Catalonia, Costa Brava, Spain

Cadaqués is the easternmost village of continental Spain situated in the county of Alt Empordà in the province of Girona in Catalonia, on the Costa Brava. It was isolated by mountains and in the past many pirate gangs took refuge after attacking ships on the high seas. In the early twentieth century tourists have started moving in more accessible areas and other areas remained farther from urban development which is highly appreciated nowadays. The village of medieval origin and encircled by a great wall occupied the space of what is now called the historic center with narrow streets that seem mazes. There is the church of Santa María (XVI-XVII century) with its very original baroque altar and pillars supported by four giants and has a very important organ, considered one of the oldest organs in Catalonia. The village is also known for having lots of coves whose best known is Portlligat. Everyone knows that Salvador Dalí loved this village and there was his inspiration.

Tips

To have a magnificent view and take good pictures, visit the Santa María church. You can also attend the mass on Sundays at 10:00.
If you love the sea, you have some beaches and there are many coves with pebbles and rocks, so it would be suitable to bring sports shoes to enter into the water.
There is a tourist train offering tours throughout the village and in the most famous coves.
