Tizzarouine Kasbah is located in Bulmane Dades, on a plateau overlooking the desert Oued Dades. It is located 120 km from Ouarzazate Airport; 52 km from Tinghir, near the Gorges du Dadès, Todra and the Valley of the Roses. The facilities are modern, very comfortable and the atmosphere and the decoration have been treated to preserve the authenticity of the place and its surroundings. The place forms a tourist complex with the hotel, two restaurants, swimming pool, two terraces to admire the magnificent panorama, a tiny reading room where you can also have a nice view and plenty of space to walk, take a nice stroll or to walk in town. The whole complex has two hectares. The hotel is located in the center of the city.

Tips

If you want to live a different experience, the hotel has rooms in cellars (troglodyte rooms) and a permanent bivouac in Merzouga.

It is an ideal location for lovers of hiking and mountain biking.

Chez Ali, Marrakech, Morocco

Chez Ali is a tourist complex in the heart of the Palmeraie of Marrakech, where you can attend a dinner show, known as the ‘Fantasy of  Marrakech’. The atmosphere is warm, you can feel like in an evening of Arabian Nights, under Berber tents decorated with carpets; hosted by fantasy; tasting the delicious dishes of the region. The show includes folk music, dancers, acrobats, magicians, fireworks … The show after dinner is outside. Transportation from your hotel or riad is included with your ticket.

Tips

If you do not want to attend the dinner, there is the option of paying just for the show. You can still arrive an hour before to visit the place which includes the Cave of Ali Baba, the museum with the history of the place and of its owner and the tents.
Children under 6 years do not pay.
The show takes place in the dark with very little light so it’s not very good for photos so a good camera is required.

Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, Morocco

Ait Ben Haddou is a kasbah or village in the Ounila Valley, south of Télouet in the province of Ouarzazate. This valley was a traditional crossing caravans linking Marrakech to Saharan region. It is a true example of the architecture of traditional southern Morocco which is on the side of a hill on top of which there was a collective attic (an agadir). There’s a set of earthen buildings surrounded by walls, the ksar, which is a type of traditional pre-Saharan habitat. The defensive walls are reinforced with corner towers and houses are grouped within the oldest of which date back to the seventeenth century. Around it, a group of villages gathers next to the river that runs through the valley. The people, of nomadic origin, are mostly Berber. The village is inscribed on the World Heritage of UNESCO. For movie lovers, many films have been made in this lovely place such as Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, Sodom and Gomorrah, The Nile diamond, The Mummy, Gladiator, among others.

Tips

There are two ways to access the kasbah, the ‘tourist’ one, being helped by children waiting for tourists to cross over sandbags on the small river in exchange of some coins or by a bridge built in recent years which will not cause you problems in the case of having a hard time climbing the small hill or for disabled people.
If you insist on taking photos with villagers, always ask their permission, remember that this is their place and us, we are just visitors …
You will find some craftsmen and as usual, you have to negotiate the price before.
