Val David, Laurentians, Quebec, Canada

Val David is a municipality village in Quebec, 80 km north of Montreal, halfway between Saint-Sauveur and Mont-Tremblant; picturesque village in the Laurentians, is a famous place to go climbing. The area has the regional Val-David Val-Morin Park where other that climbing, you will find plenty of trails for hiking, forest walking, mountain biking and cross-country skiing and skiing Nordic. This is where we also find the famous Santa Claus Village, the Linear Park the P’tit Train du Nord, 1001 Pots exhibition (the largest ceramics exhibition in North America), the Val David Market, farmer’s market of more than 60 stalls, among others. Sandbanks Provincial Park, Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada

Sandbanks Provincial Park is a park just 4 hours from Montreal and 3 hours from Toronto, located in Prince Edward County, Ontario. The Sandbanks dunes are 25 meters jutting into Lake Ontario at the jetty of the St. Lawrence River. Saffron sand, disorient you and the experience is full of wealth of local products of Prince Edward County. Sandbanks is a favorite provincial park for campers for its sandy hills teeming with plants and beautiful landscape. The white mobile sand dunes are among the biggest barrier beaches on the planet. You have three beautiful beaches, swimming marries water sports. This is a popular habitat by the “lizards” humans as by many species, which makes it all the more attractive park. Here you will find hiking trails that allow you to experience the dune and wetland habitats of the park.

Tips

Outlet Beach is perfect for families, with its shallow waters and gently sloping shore.
In spring and autumn, this park is ideal for seeing migrating birds.
In summer there is a daily interpretive program for the whole family.
Prince Edward County is known for having a lot of tracks for cycling.

Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada

Mont Saint-Hilaire is one of nine Monteregians hills located near Montreal (30km east). It is named in honor of Hilary of Poitiers, Doctor of the Church, and is part of the core area of the biosphere reserve of Mont-Saint-Hilaire. It covers an area of 16 km2 on the right side of the St. Lawrence River basin, separated from the city of Beloeil by the Richelieu River, giving its name to the municipality that is at his feet, the town of Mont Saint-Hilaire. It includes Lake Hertel. a reception pavilion, a career and the Gault Nature Reserve of McGill University with an area of just over 5 km open to visitors for outdoor activities where there are 4 peaks (Sugar Loaf, hill Burned, Rocky and Dieppe). There are several types of forests with a very diversified fauna and flora, and there are a variety of over 300 minerals. You can do cross-country skiing, hiking and bird watching.

Tips

If you want to get a good view of the region and see the Olympic Stadium in Montreal, go to the Sugar Loaf, you can also see the Adirondack mountains in upstate New York. From the top of Dieppe, you will see the Richelieu River. If you want to know the paths that are open to the public, go to the website site of the Nature Center to get a map. If you are a group of 20 people or more, you must apply for a permit to make your hike.
