Gdansk is a port city located on the Baltic Sea, in Poland. It is considered the second largest city in the country after Krakow. The city has been inhabited by several different European cultures and the result is seen in the architectural and cultural heritage that are present. There are Gothic, Renaissance, Mannerist and Baroque buildings. You will find several museums and theaters and also many shops selling amber items. Tips
If you visit the city in summer, you can also enjoy the beach, appreciated by many European tourists. You will also find tourist transport that connects Danzig to Sopot and Hel with a sort of water tram; there are three different lines.
Walking around the old town is a must; there are many cafes and restaurants that are well worth a break. The street Dluga, pedestrian street, is worth the visit during the day as in the evening.
