Mar del Plata is a city of the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, located on the Atlantic coast, 404 km southeast of the city of Buenos Aires, the federal capital. The city is a major tourist center of the country; major resort and hosts during the summer between two and three million visitors, multiplying up to twice its resident population. The city has a highly developed tourist infrastructure. It is also known as the Pearl of the Atlantic and there is a great similarity with Biarritz (the French city). The preferred beaches by the tourists are located in the city center or in the south of the city. It is well known culturally, it has many theaters and cinemas that are full of all kinds of shows in the summer. It’s also visited throughout the year because it is a city that offers many opportunities for tourists there are many events that take place throughout the year and it is also a place for lovers-fishing. The climate of Mar del Plata is temperate oceanic, with abundant rainfall throughout the year and much cooler temperatures than in Buenos Aires. To see: Provincial Hotel and Central Casino (one of the largest casinos in the world, which also hosts a theater-auditorium); the Millennium Square with its dancing waters fountain (opposite the Casino); the monument to the sea lion (located on the Rambla), the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Cecilia (1905); the Monk Tour; the Fishermen Port; the Lighthouse Punta Mogotes, Camet Park, the Aquarium, among others.

Tips

There is a wide variety of restaurants in the city. A nice place to eat is the port where you will find delicious dishes with fresh fish of the day. You can also buy fresh fish every day.
The Atlantic coast has many beaches and cities each bonded to others, you can rent a car to know them, it is worth it because they are very different from each other.
At 20 km from the city we find the Mount and the Lagoon of Fathers, a popular site for tourism.
You will find many woolen and cotton thread clothing stores because there are several textile factories in the city and around; the same as factories of ‘alfajores’, a kind of stuffed biscuit with ‘dulce de leche’ product typically Argentinian.
If you like a night out, there are many bars, restaurants, discos, pubs, etc. The best known places are in the city center, on Avenue Constitución or at ‘Playa Grande’ on the Maritime Boulevard.

Lanín National Park, Neuquén, Argentina

The Lanín National Park is a park located in the province of Neuquén in Argentina. It is very interesting because it has much wood or cold forests of the said type ‘Valdivian’ which are essentially large trees; groups of conifers and fagaceae. Many of them are present only in the region and nowhere else in Argentina and are several hundred years old. There are araucarias, lengas, coihues and cypresses of the Cordillera and others even as the Lanín volcano which gives an option of adventure tourism to the place. In its many lakes and abundant rivers, we can practice fishing for salmon and trout. The most visited lakes are the Lácar and the Huechulafquen. With national parks Nahuel Huapi, Lago Puelo and Los Alerces, Los Arrayanes, this park is part of the Andino Norpatagonica biosphere reserve. The nearest towns are San Martín de los Andes and Junín de los Andes.

Tips

The park has different areas with paths for walking, trekking even for riding on a horse or on a mountain bike. The paths are not very easy and it is necessary to have good sports shoes. You must walk carefully, you will find animals on your way also but they are not dangerous.
In the park there are no structures where tyou can stay but if you like the adventure, there are areas for free camping or organized one. There are also beautiful areas with beaches where you can spend the day, make the kayak or practise fishing.
For the more energetic, the ascent of the volcano is also possible.
You count with tourist centres in the nearby towns of Junín de los Andes and San Martín de los Andes, town where you will find ski slopes too.

Reserve Juréia-Itatins, Peruibe, São Paulo, Brazil

One of the most beautiful places on the south coast of São Paulo is the city of Peruibe, especially Paradise waterfall in the reserve Juréia-Itatins. It’s great to go down the hill in the Juréia surrounded on the road by the Atlantic Forest, a breathtaking descent, for Guaraú beach; a very clean beach with typical food Caiçara based on fish and seafood and the best shrimp Saint-Pierre! , The public use of the cascade is controlled by forests and it is the Foundation that uses the reserve as an environmental education tool. Access to the site will be allowed only with the monitored scheduled visit, being 180 the maximum number of independent visitors (no appointment, but recommended) and 90 for groups (appointment required). The swimming area is limited to the natural pool, not being allowed the access to the upper areas of the waterfall. The instructors are trained and qualified to receive people and provide information and lectures on the importance of protecting biodiversity, the waterfall and ecological station; one of the last places on the Brazilian coast where the Atlantic Forest has hardly changed.

Tips

To enter the reserve, you must have a ticket and service to visitors is from 8:00 to 17:00 daily.
You can arrive there by bus (public transportation) at very affordable prices, but the instability of time indefinite, and no information can affect the length of syour tay in the ecological station.
A tip: take advantage of the waterfall first and then go to the beach.
